Office Hours: Office #27; Thursday [03/03].
As much as Ignis had enjoyed the trip, he was reminded, very quickly, of why vacations weren't really a thing he could completely pursue, because work didn't stop just because he wanted to go flitting off to a different country for several days, and all of that work was waiting for him right along side that week's work when he got back. At the very least, Noctis had managed to survive the week (albeit barely, in Ignis' not-so-humble opinion), but there was a lot of news to catch up on, troop movements to cnsider, a few notes about the Oracle that had tugged his brain a little, in addition to his lesson plans for here, which, thankfully, compared to everything else, felt like a light breeze in the midst of all these heavier gusts.
Also thankfully, he did have his helpful supply of Ebony to keep him going through it.
Or, at least, it usually was a helpful supply of Ebony, but, even after the first few sips of the first can he cracked open, Ignis had to frown a little and examine the can a little more closely. Something definitely tasted off, and he wasn't sure he could quite put his finger on it, and, a few more sip later, he started to wonder...
...but no. That....couldn't possibly be it...
Halfway through his second can, though, he caught himself in the truly disturbing act of actually yawning, and he realized that his suspicions must have been correct.
There had been a horrible mistake. These cans were obviously, despite the labeling, actually decaf Ebony.
Decaf Ebony!
That such a thing even existed was an abysmal state of things.
And now all of Ignis' work was going to be entirely derailed by him trying to decide whether or not it was worth the effort to write a very strongly worded letter to the company berating them for this egregiously unfortunate mishap...

At least sugar could still have the same impact that caffeine and alcohol had on him, he still missed coffee and alcohol though.
“I wasn’t able to bring coffee, for some reason all the coffee on the island is decaf,” Goose said apologetically, knocking briefly as he stood at the doorway and holding up the box of pastries and donuts, “I do have sugary treats though,”

"All the coffee?" he asked, with a great deal of relief that he'd been so indecisive about that strongly worded letter after all.

He was definitely going to have to apologise to Summer for jinking it wasn’t he?

Ignis, meanwhile, was taking in this information thoughtfully, and it was doing nothing to alleviate his frown.
"Oh," he realized dismally, "this is going to be a very long weekend..."
Although, really, he did miss an awful lot back home while he was away. Regis had mentioned needing to speak with him, Noctis' place was still quite the mess. It might actually be quite... prudent for him to head back once he was finished with his class obligations tomorrow...

That had definitely been wishful thinking one his part.
“I do miss the coffee and alcohol though,” he sighed, “even though my healing factor is probably glad for the break,” he admitted a bit sheepishly.
He also hadn’t factored in that he could also just go home for a few days, especially since his class was already over for the week but Goose was too focused on the fact that there wasn’t coffee and alcohol that that idea hadn’t occurred to him.

"But, please," he gestured toward the chair on the other side of the desk, "have a seat, and let's see about what you'vr brought. Might as well allow ourselves to indulge in whatever pleasures the island still allows us."
And the fact that he hadn't even meant a word of that suggestively right now was a true testiment to the lack of caffeine affecting him far more than he would even deign to let on...

Goose what did we just say about not giving the island ideas?
