Office Hours: Office #27; Thursday [04/21].
For someone who had made a regular habit of using this office space consistently for well over a year (and sometimes it was a little odd thinking it had even been that long), Ignis really hadn't collected much stuff there. Granted, he'd never really been one of excess except in certain areas. The biggest consession to the decor had been the addition of his mini-fridge for his cans of Ebony, but that was clearly to be a gift for whoever else occupied this space next. Because he certainly wasn't going to be needing it any more.
That said, everything that he would be taking with him all fit neatly into one box, and it barely took him much time to do that. He'd considered maybe suggesting to Shane that they move their unofficial weekly meeting elsewhere for the day, but, well, one last office hours coffee break wouldn't hurt. It could actually be quite nice, really.
So he settled behind the desk with the box all packed and took to his phone, where he was already in the process of contacting Summer for her suggestions on what he should do about the Covent Garden apartment, since Seivarden was still not back, and she was the one who had mostly arranged that living situation in the first place.
But now that Tisarwat was back, Summer was definitely redirecting any and all Radchaai business, be it cat-related or apartment-related, to her.
[[ open door, open office of course! ]]

He knocked on the door, ready to ask his usual question if Ignis was busy but then he noticed the office was looking pretty empty, “oh are you changing offices for next semester?” he found himself asking, even though he was starting to get the idea that it wasn’t going to be that simple.

"Come have a seat," he suggested. "No point in having this conversation with you just standing at the door the whole time. Besides, it's a well established fact that coffee and pastries can elevate nearly any discussion."

He sat down on the chair trying to not feel nervous about what Ignis was going to tell him, “you…um…” he started to say and then realised he didn’t know how to say it, “you have to go home don’t you?” he finally forced himself to say the words.

"Duty calls," he said, simply enough, because why complicate things? And, as a military man himself, he figured Shane would understand that much. Even if this was a duty that went well, well beyond just that.

He could relate as he knew he was most likely on borrowed time in Fandom himself that he could get the orders to return home but he was trying to focus on the news that he was being told.
“I …I didn’t think it would be so soon,” he finally looked back up. “It’s …I’m …it’s for good isn’t it?”

"There's also..." He sighed a little, as none of this was new, but discussing it with anyone outside the Crownsguard was, "...some rumors about Imperial activity on our borders, and I know his Majesty has more than a few plans in the upcoming month that will demand our full attention."

“Oh,” he wished he had something more eloquent to say but well speaking was never his strong suit, “um…if you ever need my help, or my team’s …we’ll be more than happy to assist, you just have to call on the communicator,” he offered choosing to focus on the military aspect rather than what all of this meant personally for him.

"I certainly will keep that in mind," he said. "It could potentially be very useful, having reinforcements potentially just...dropping by from above."
Which....would actually be a thing on several occasionals, albeit from a high-flying mercenary rather than a troop of space rangers.

“I’ll try not to make it a literal crash landing,” Goose said softly, “I’m pretty sure my …” he stopped, realising he had been about to call Walsh his dad and quickly changed it, “…I mean Walsh will appreciate me not adding more expenses to BETA’s budget,”

With that, he took a sip of his coffee, coming away from it a little thoughtful.
"I will miss this, though," he found himself admitting. "I know Prompto's hoping to still manage some sort of balance between here and the new demands on him back home, so there's a good chance, if I manage to catch wind of any particularly interesting events or parties, I might still be able to find the time to drop in."

He paused as he considered the rest of what Ignis was saying, “visits would be nice,” he said,”we could still see each other then, right?” he tried not to sound so hopeful.

Aww, look at him. Actually managing to show affection in a way that didn't involve cooking something or cleaning up some literal or metaphorical mess.

Ignis felt he would be remiss not to mention at least that.
