Let's just call it a draw, that she was certainly the best at being the worst.

But Ignis knew not to check the message that had been chirped from his phone as soon as he heard who had sent it until after he'd left his class, but he did manage to find a way to slip out of that class slightly early.

And to his credit, he did not call Liliana back right away. And not even just because that certainly warranted more than one listen.

But he was now calling her back.

"Why hello my darling," Liliana said, answering her phone on the second ring. From the tone of voice alone, Ignis could tell she was lounging and feeling quite pleased with herself that this had earned a call. "How lovely to hear from you."

"Mmm," just a slight hum to start him off, appreciating the confirmation of the grin he could practically imagine was settled on her face at that moment, "I can assure you, that feeling is quite mutual. Although I'm afraid I have to admit, I found your message just a touch lacking, my dear. I was half expecting blueberries. But, no matter. I've decided I'll be stopping by the store to pick some up. I just wanted to call and see if there might be anything else I should pick up while I'm there? I was also of thinking of swinging by the bakery, for some pie? Any requests? Although I have to warn you, it might take some time..."

"Love, I could hardly recite poetry about blueberries while you're expecting it," Liliana said with false reproach. "Where's the fun in that? Though if you are finding my messages lacking, I certainly don't have to leave any more, if you're not getting anything out of it. That would hardly be an efficient use of your time, my darling."

She smiled at his suggestion. "Mmm, have you considered a slice of strawberry rhubarb? That might be fun. Though if you skip the bakery, you would be home sooner..." She made a musing noise. "If you did stop and get pie, who do you think would be best served eating it?
