MHA #10; Tuesday Morning [11/15].
Well. There certainly was one way for Ignis to know, immediately, that things were back to normal, and that was waking up to that deep, unfathomable, familiar darkness once again. Other details came in soon after: the sound of Shane's steady breathing as he slept, the presence of his body, considerably larger than it had been after it had succumbed to a massive sugar crash the day before. Despite that distinct ache that accompanied his current lack of sight, he smiled faintly. Thank goodness for that healing factor, but something told him there might still be some regrets that morning.
He knew of at least one thing that might help, and it was one thing that Ignis himself was feeling like he needed pretty badly right now, anyway, and he decided to loo on the bright side (so to speak) of the whole situation, and be grateful for the fact that, even as a young child, he had been meticulously observant. Having more recent memories of just how everything looked made it exceptionally easier to find his way around the apartment when he got himself out of bed, and he could remember the precise location of where everything he'd need to make coffee was.
He had to compensate a little bit for the height difference, but it wasn't long at all before he had a fresh pot ready to go, poured himself a cup, and then just took his time in enjoying it while reflecting on the weekend. And, most importantly, matching those almost painfully vivid memories of what he had seen to the mental maps he'd spent the last few weeks building in his head these last few weeks.
His younger self may have found his unsuccessful search around the island for Noctis to be frustrating and worrisome, but his current self was finding it to be incredibly useful, indeed.

He did notice that he was alone in the room and he did eventually force himself to get out of bed and make his way to the kitchen when he thought he could smell coffee and found Ignis there.
“Is that coffee?” he said hopefully, moving rather sluggishly towards the counter.

"How are you feeling?"

He was realising that he probably didn’t have much luck at avoiding a repeat of last year’s insomnia.

“My younger self had a way of getting into sugar,” he managed with a small smile, “dad has a few horror stories with my first experiences with sugar after ..well Wolf Den happened,” he took a long sip of coffee, “I can see why they never let us have sugar while we were there,”

"We should order up some breakfast," he suggested. "Get some proper food in us."
His kid self had done the best he could with what they had, but it would have still been a while before he'd fully managed to come into his culinary own at that time.

Even though admittedly he had been a little distracted the last couple of weeks between being a goose and then a child.

Always the tactician, this one. So if he saw an opening to encourage better eating habits, how could he not seize upon it?

It wasn’t likely the no sugar rule was going to remain in place for long but the way he felt at that precise moment, he was willing to give the sugar a rest for a while.

"We should see to breakfast first, though," he decided. "Filling one's pantry on an empty stomach is sure to be an exercise in excess."

He'd almost said something about seeing the sights, instead, but he didn't know if they were quite there in terms of that kind of...dark humor yet...

He had been far more used to minding a much more...lethargic young boy, after all.

"Nothing that I was able to notice," he reported, settling the pot back down. "But who even knows what you managed to get into when left to your own devices."
