"Well, yes," said Ignis, with a faint hint of a sigh in it, "but we should have plenty for both today and tomorrow..."

It was then, actually, that a very...interesting notion flit into his head and demanded consideration. One that at first blush seemed incredibly unlikely, but when given a fair shake, almost....seemed to make an odd sort of sense.

"Do we no longer have enough for today and tomorrow?" he ventured.

"We do not, sir."

And, if Ignis were to ask why, he'd likely be unsurprised to hear the answer, "I'm certain I couldn't say, sir."

"No," Ignis agreed, while having a terrible time trying to keep the smirk out of it, "and you certainly needn't say anything more, unless there's anything else that might be needed while I'm there?"

Such as....oh, more cleaning supplies, perhaps?

"And thank you. I'll ensure that those items are, indeed,taken care of and accounted for."

Hey, the Mistress had only told him to ensure the missing ingredients were replaced. Which he just had. Obedience was paramount, after all.

Though he did not seem to be around when Ignis returned home with the groceries. Very curious! Perhaps this was why he requested Ignis pick them up? Either way, he wasn't available to take the groceries from Ignis and put them away.

His keen senses would make note of a note of fresh air, like a door or several windows were open deeper in the house, and the kind of silence that suggested Liliana was either out, sleeping upstairs, or in her basement workroom.

And just the faintest trace of something acrid in the air.

A delivery

Arriving at some point in the afternoon a particular bouquet is delivered to the mansion or the apartment, wherever they are currently. The bottom of the bouquet is covered in fabric and beneath it, Ignis can feel root clusters, in case he wishes to transplant the individual flowers into pots and grow them.

There is a card, which the delivery person would read, unless Ignis prefers to wait to have Liliana read it when she returns from work:

You should not be tokenless.

At 10am sharp, exactly when Liliana's class was scheduled to end, a delivery was made:

A single slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie.

At some point between the end of his 'lunch break' and the end of his shift, a voice text would arrive on his phone. And, in the voice of a woman well-satisfied but still (always?) hungry for more, a poem, Where It Begins, by Erica Jong, is recited

After Liliana's Cats class ended, a text was sent to Ignis' phone.

I have business to attend to on Innistrad. I do not require company.

It was not a voice text, but a regular one read out in the phone's mechanical voice.

About an hour before Liliana's class was scheduled to begin, she found him in the house and wrapped her arms about his waist. "I'm dashing off elseplane to do some very important shopping," she informed him brightly. "I had intended to leave you here so that it would be as much a surprise to you as everyone else, but considering earlier in the week, I thought that being summarily told to remain here might sit poorly with you and I'd...rather not do that."

Look at us. We're learning, we're loving, we're thriving.

"So, you can either accompany me, though with the understanding that I will answer no questions," she continued, wagging her finger at him playfully, "or you can meet me at the doors of the school at quarter to ten, which is when and where my return portal is scheduled to leave me."

With Liliana's arms around him, Ignis leaned easily into the embraced, intrigued from practically the first word, and a soft, tender smile warming him well before that last. And then, faced with such a tantalizing choice, he hummed thoughtfully as he considered.

"I suppose," he finally concluded, "that depends. May I be allowed one, pre-emptive question?"

"You may," she decided. "For the price of a kiss."

"A price I was planning to pay anyway," he noted, grinning, but, for that price tag, the kiss that followed perhaps lingered just a touch longer, and, when he was finished, a softer, additional bonus kiss was pressed against her forehead before he asked:

"Will you be needing help carrying anything?"

"I had intended to bring my steward," she said, since Liliana Vess had strength as her dump stat could hardly be expected to be seen juggling sacks or bushels or jugs or the like. "But, should a handsome gentleman wish to come to a lady's aid instead..."

"A handsome gentleman," said Ignis, and his frugality, it would seem, was not a matter of concern at all when the cost was kisses, as he was quite eager to be overpaying egregiously in that moment, "would enjoy that very much."

Yeah, so Navaan had class today, but she wasn't actually following any of the rules, just spinning the wheel and making phone calls. And sometimes not even bothering to spin the wheel.

"The wheel says I gotta text a rant to somebody so I'm gonna text you and tell you all about why your girlfriend sucks." Except it wasn't a text, it was a very long and graphic message about why Ignis' girlfriend sucked.

"And, in short...she sucks and you should get a girlfriend - or a boyfriend, or a themfriend, I don't care - who sucks you and not in general, you're welcome, bye!"

When the phone in his pocket vibrated to alert him to a call, Ignis' hands were a bit busy with food prep before classes. His phone informed him that the caller was unknown, anyway, so he didn't concern himself too much about it. If it was important, they'd leave a message,surely.

And that they did. Drying off his hands with a frown, he then played that message.

It took him a moment, to recognize the voice, and as soon as he did, he groaned, murmuring to himself that this better be in regards to her class, blissfully, being canceled tomorrow, or some other such thing.

It took him only another moment to realize that this was not with regards to her class at all.

(Well. Not the class she was teaching anyway).

It took zero moments after that for Ignis to end the message that had only just started,with no regard for its actual content, and promptly delete it entirely.

Good fucking riddance.

He calmly them returned to his cooking.

Sure, this had happened to Navaan before, but that had been a millionty years ago and she definitely did not remember that far back. Certainly not when such a good message had been left.
