After the first three times Liliana had checked on a sleeping Ignis and found him still a child, she had taken herself off to her oddly too-large (and too cold!) bed relatively early, just to make the morning come sooner.
Funny how it hadn't felt too big for one person before a year ago.
Sleep had remained an elusive, fitful thing. No nightmares, which was a blessing, but she'd had trouble falling asleep and staying that way. So when she was suddenly surrounded by warm arms, her hair brushed off and the softness of his lips and breath upon the nape of her neck, she was quickly pulled out from the thin sleep that had claimed her. "Oh," she breathed, violet eyes blinking open. "You're back."
And then she was turning over to catch him for a long and hungry kiss. It had been days.
